(1/29/22) - U.S. number of new homes under construction highest since 2007. (1/28/22) - A compromise amendment has been offered regarding the proposed new short-term rental bill. (1/25/22) - Winter swells are causing continuing beach erosion for some north shore homes. (1/24/22) - Nationally, annual existing-home sales hit highest mark since 2006. (1/21/22) - The sales figures for December for the Oahu real estate market have been released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. Here is a single-page set of charts showing the last 12 months of data. It was another neutral-to-positive month. Sales volume was mixed, but we are in the slowest time of the year, and inventory tightness is also a factor. Median prices were up from last year for both property types, but mixed from the previous month. Inventory for both homes and condos was at the lowest point in the last twelve months, and pending sales volume looks fitting for the winter season.
