- The sales figures for October for the Oahu real estate market have been released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. Here is a single-page set of charts showing the last 12 months of data. It was a fairly neutral month. Sales volume was about even for both property types when compared to either last year or last month. The median home price is higher than a year ago (unchanged for condos), but both median prices dropped from recent months' highs (which may be part of the annual pattern). Inventory has been inching up the last few months but is still low, and pending sales volume looks fine. Here are the full HBR stats for Oahu. Individual neighborhood data will be released mid-month. (11/7/13)

- Starting this month, landlords in Hawaii are permitted to ask for an additional security deposit for a tenant's pet. The standard industry rental agreement has been updated to cover this, and a new pet addendum has been added. (11/1/13)
