- The sales figures for August for the Oahu real estate market have been released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. Here is a single-page set of charts showing the last 12 months of data. It was a relatively neutral month with strong sales activity balanced out by mixed data for median sale prices. Sales for both homes and condos increased from last month and continue to show strong summer activity. The three-month average of combined sales shows a nice curve over the last six months as activity increased from spring into summer. Median condo prices jumped back up from last month and have been remarkably even for the year. Median home prices dropped from last month but were within their price range over the last six months. As the chart shows, it was primarily between 6 to 12 months back when the median home prices showed softness. Inventory is low (it usually starts increasing this time of year) and pending sales volume looks good again. Here are the full HBR stats for Oahu and individual neighborhood data is available here.
