July, 2020 « Next month - Average 30-year mortgage rates for the week fell under 3% for the first time in fifty years. (7/31/20) - Pending U.S. home sales increase 16.6% in June. (7/29/20) - Nationally, May home prices show 4.5% annual gain. (7/28/20) - Another story about people moving out of a city, this time Seattle. (7/22/20) - Will there be an exodus from cities in the coming years? (7/14/20) - The sales figures for June for the Oahu real estate market have been released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. Here is a single-page set of charts showing the last 12 months of data. It was a very mixed month with a positive feeling. The effects of the Covid quarantine on the market are still evident, but current market activity, which will show up in the data in a month or two appears to indicate a return to a normal market. Sales volume is bouncing back. Home sales are only down 5% year-to-date from last year. Condo sales volume has been affected more, but condo median prices are stronger.
