September, 2024 « Next month - Honolulu tax proposal on empty homes advances. (9/30/24) - Nationally, the August existing homes sales data repeated its ongoing trend. Sales volume dipped a little, and median price increased for the 14th month in a row. (9/27/24) - Honolulu Council proposes stricter E-Bike regulations. (9/20/24) - Is the way Maui regulates water fixtures another part of their housing shortage problem? (9/13/24) - The sales figures for August for the Oahu real estate market have been released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. Here is a single-page set of charts showing the last 12 months of data. Once again, it was a very mixed month. Sales volume was mixed depending on the time-frame compared. Median sale price changes were mostly negative, except for homes compared to one year ago, but the combined three-month moving average set another median price record for the year. All the condo data needs to taken with a grain of salt due to the continuing effect of insurance issues. Inventory inched up again, and pending sales volume looks even.
